Awareness Workshop on Solar Energy Conservation by CREDA at Pragati College , Choubey Colony , Raipur

“Workshop on Solar Energy and Energy Conservation Awareness” program was organised on Thursday February 27, 2025 at Pragati College, Chaubey Colony Raipur. Chief Executive Officer of Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA), Energy Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Rajesh Singh Rana, Project Coordinator Mr. Nihar Ranjan Sahu and subject expert Ms. Neha were present as the keynote speakers. The program started under the chairmanship of CEO Mr. Rajesh Singh Rana. The objective of this program was to explain the importance of solar energy among the students and to encourage awareness towards energy conservation.

CREDA CEO Mr. Rajesh Singh Rana said that both the state and central governments are doing work like more income, lower electricity bills, creation of employment for people, installation of solar pumps under the use and conservation of solar energy.

He explained in simple words the process of providing government grant for setting up solar and biogas plants.

CREDA Project Coordinator Mr. Nihar Ranjan Sahu gave information about saving electricity from about 50% to 56% through various examples.

CREDA subject expert Ms. Neha also organised a cooperative competition on solar and alternative energy under entertaining and informative games for students. Five different groups Solaris, Green Army, Jyoti, Solar Top and Tidal Turbines participated in the program. The main purpose of forming the groups is to convert the workshop’s subject description into action, which will fulfill the subject-related objectives through various activities throughout the year, Neha said .

The program was conducted by   Asst. Professor  ( Education )  Gunjan Sharma. Administrator Ms. Jyoti Thakur  of the College  expressed  gratitude  saying that , It has been such an honour to be a part of this wonderful  workshop . On behalf of the Pragati College , I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed guests, Chief Executive  Officer ( CEO  ) Mr.Rajesh Singh Rana , Coordinator Mr,  Nihar Ranjan Sahu and expert Ms, Neha . Thanks to the head of Education  Department Mr. KN Gajpal , head of the   Journalism Department Dr. Praveen Kumar yadav  and all of Faculties of education  department  who handled the workshop throughout. , Ms Jyoti added.
