Chaos has erupted at Bhabanipur, the VVIP constituency in West Bengal. Here, the announcement regarding the 12th round of vote counting has been halted. Both Mamata Banerjee and Suvendu Adhikari are currently present inside the counting centre.

Disorder prevails at Bhabanipur, the high-profile constituency in West Bengal. The announcement for the 13th round of counting has been suspended. Mamata Banerjee and Suvendu Adhikari are inside the counting centre. Agents representing other political parties allege that BJP agents have forcibly evicted them from the premises. Mamata, too, has stated that a significant number of her own agents have been removed from the counting centre.

According to the Election Commission’s website, 13 rounds of counting have been completed for the Bhabanipur seat, and the BJP candidate for this constituency, Suvendu Adhikari, is currently trailing. It is worth noting that the contest for this seat is a direct face-off between Mamata Banerjee and Suvendu Adhikari.

As per the latest updates, following the completion of the 13th round of counting, Mamata Banerjee is leading by a margin of 5,349 votes. A total of 20 rounds of counting are scheduled to take place here. BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari holds the second position, having secured a total of 41,377 votes so far. Mamata Banerjee has received 46,726 votes.
Subsequently, the announcement of counting results at this venue has been halted.

This time around, Mamata Banerjee is contesting the election solely from the Bhabanipur constituency. In contrast, Suvendu Adhikari is contesting from two seats: Bhabanipur and Nandigram. In Nandigram, Suvendu Adhikari is leading by a margin of over 4,000 votes after 14 rounds of counting. Here, he is pitted against the TMC’s Pabitra Kar. Pabitra Kar had left the BJP and joined the TMC just before the elections.
