CM Sai met the Prime Minister, discussed Naxal eradication, industrial development and women empowerment
Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today on Tuesday March 18, 2025 and discussed in detail the overall development of Chhattisgarh. During this, the Chief Minister presented the master plan prepared for the development of Bastar region to the Prime Minister. This plan includes a detailed outline of developing Naxal-affected areas as centers of infrastructure, industries and tourism. Prime Minister Modi responded positively to this and assured all possible cooperation to the state government.
Chief Minister Sai informed the Prime Minister that Naxalism is in its last phase in Chhattisgarh. Positive changes are taking place in the affected areas due to the organised strategy of the security forces and public participation. With the joint efforts of the police and central forces, development work has started in many Naxal strongholds, which has increased the confidence of the local people in the government’s schemes, Sai said .
Investment increased due to new industrial policy
Chief Minister Sai informed the Prime Minister about the new industrial policy of the state, which is increasing the interest of investors. He said that due to single window clearance, tax exemption and favorable policies, big companies are being attracted to invest in Chhattisgarh. The focus of the state government is on developing Bastar as a new industrial and economic hub, so that the youth can get employment and tribal communities can get a better standard of living.
Promoting women empowerment and self-employment
During the meeting, the Chief Minister described women empowerment and rural development as a priority and said that women are being made self-reliant through self-employment schemes. Concrete efforts are being made to empower women self-help groups in the Bastar region.
CM told the Prime Minister that economic independence and employment opportunities are being provided to thousands of women through minor forest produce, organic farming, handloom, bamboo industry and handicrafts. Initiatives are being taken to connect women with production and marketing through startups and small industries, so that they can contribute to strengthening the local economy.
PM’s visit to Chhattisgarh on March 30
During the meeting, Chief Minister Sai also shared the outline of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Chhattisgarh on March 30. During this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several important development projects in the state. The Chief Minister informed about the preparations being made for this visit and apprised the Prime Minister of the progress of the development schemes going on in the state.
This visit of the Prime Minister is expected to give further impetus to industrial development, infrastructure and social schemes in the state. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the Central and State Government will give a new direction to the development of Chhattisgarh.
