New Delhi :Cheap liquor was being sold in bottles of expensive brands at a government liquor shop in Netaji Subhash Place area of Delhi. On Friday, the Excise Department team arrested the shop owner and three employees, against whom an FIR has been registered at the local police station. A team of ACP Rajesh Meena of the Excise Department was ordered to investigate the irregularities in the government liquor shop. During this, it was found that cheap liquor was being sold in bottles of expensive brands at the liquor shop located at Netaji Subhash Place.
Inspector Rohit Sharma and Inspector Indrapal’s team raided a paan shop, where some empty liquor bottles were found. The shopkeeper told that these bottles were kept by the people working on contract. After this, the team arrested manager Jugal Kishore, salesman Shantanu Mishra and Raja Poddar.
Loss of revenue by breaking liquor bottles
Investigation revealed that the accused had built a warehouse nearby, where they used to break cheap liquor bottles and fill them in liquor cans and take payment by giving the excuse that the bottle was broken during transportation. Now expensive brand bottles were bought from junk shops and cheap whiskey was filled in the warehouse and then these were sold in the shop. The arrested accused told that they used to sell the bottles in the crowd in the evening, which was going on for about two years. On the information of the Excise Department, an FIR has been registered in Subhash Place police station.
