CM Vishnu Deo Sai directs officials to ensure best medical care; Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal reviews treatment and speaks with family

Raipur: Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal has assured the family of internationally acclaimed folk artist and renowned bamboo flute maestro Vikram Yadav that the Chhattisgarh Government stands firmly with them during this difficult time. The minister spoke to the artist’s family over the phone, inquired about his health, and assured them that every possible effort would be made to ensure his proper treatment and all necessary assistance.

Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, the Culture Minister also held discussions with the Rajnandgaon Collector and senior doctors at Government Medical College, Rajnandgaon. He directed the medical team to provide the best possible treatment to Vikram Yadav under the supervision of specialist doctors and to ensure that no essential medical facility is lacking. He further stated that if advanced treatment or additional medical arrangements become necessary, the State Government will extend every possible support without delay.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described Vikram Yadav as not only a pride of Chhattisgarh but also a cultural treasure of the nation. He said the veteran artist has carried India’s rich folk traditions to international platforms through his distinctive bamboo music, earning recognition for the state’s cultural heritage across the world.

The Chief Minister emphasised that artists like Vikram Yadav have devoted their lives to preserving and promoting Chhattisgarh’s folk traditions, making it the moral responsibility of both the government and society to stand by them in times of need. Wishing the veteran musician a speedy recovery, he assured the family that the government would continue to monitor his health and provide all required assistance.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to the cultural community, the Chief Minister said the State Government has consistently worked towards the welfare, protection, and recognition of folk artists. He noted that safeguarding the dignity and well-being of those who have dedicated their lives to preserving the state’s cultural identity remains a priority.

Vikram Yadav, internationally known for his unique bamboo flute performances, has been unwell for some time and is currently undergoing treatment at Rajnandgaon Medical College. Taking immediate cognizance of his condition, the Chhattisgarh Government has initiated measures to ensure quality medical care and all necessary support.

Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal reiterated that there would be no compromise with the health, dignity, or treatment of the distinguished folk artist. He affirmed that the government is committed to providing every possible assistance until his recovery.

My Insight :
The swift intervention by the Chief Minister and the Culture Department reflects the Chhattisgarh Government’s commitment to protecting not only its cultural heritage but also the artists who have dedicated their lives to preserving it. The initiative underscores the state’s recognition that safeguarding cultural icons is as important as preserving the traditions they represent.
