Chief Minister Reviews Boating and Water Sports Facilities at Jhumka Reservoir, Inaugurates Open Theatre
Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, during his visit to Koriya district, inaugurated a newly-built open theatre at the renowned tourist destination Jhumka in Baikunthpur. This open theatre has been developed by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department of Chhattisgarh Government.
On the occasion, he also enjoyed a boating excursion at the Jhumka reservoir and reviewed the tourism facilities developed in the area, appreciating the scenic beauty of the surroundings.
Chief Minister Sai took a boat ride aboard a ‘shikara’ in the tranquil waters of the reservoir. Surrounded by lush greenery, calm waters and blooming lotuses, the picturesque site is steadily emerging as an attractive picnic destination. Sai took detailed information regarding boating, water sports and other tourism-related activities being promoted at the site, and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the open theatre constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 27 lakh. With a seating capacity of 500 spectators, the facility is expected to become a vibrant centre for cultural events and community gatherings.
Addressing those present, Chief Minister Sai said that the Jhumka reservoir is not merely an identity of Koriya district but a symbol of the immense tourism potential across Chhattisgarh.
He noted that the State Government is consistently working towards the development, beautification and expansion of modern amenities at tourist destinations, with the objective of positioning Chhattisgarh among the leading tourism states of the country.

CM Sai directed officials to accord special attention to tourist safety, cleanliness and convenience, and to link local youth with tourism-related activities so as to generate employment opportunities in the region.
Among those present on the occasion were Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MLA Shri Bhaiyalal Rajwade, Divisional Commissioner Narendra Dugga, IG Deepak Jha, Collector Chandan Tripathi, Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar Kurre, along with public representatives, officials and a large number of distinguished citizens.
