Rajim Kumbh Kalpa is a symbol of our rich cultural and religious heritage – Governor Deka
Rajim- Chhattisgarh : Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka attended the inauguration of Rajim Kumbh Kalp Mela organised at Naveen Mela Maidan Rajim-Chaubebandha on the sacred banks of Triveni Sangam Rajim as the chief guest. On the occasion of the inauguration of the 15-day Rajim Kumbh Kalp, which runs from Magh Purnima to Mahashivratri, Governor Ramen Deka and the and saints present on the main stage offered flowers to the statue of Lord Rajiv Lochan and took blessings. Also wished for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the state.
On the occasion of inauguration, Governor Ramen Deka said in his address that we all have gathered to witness an important event on this holy land of Rajim where Mahanadi, Pairi and Sondhur meet. This Maghi Mela, which we all know as ‘ Rajim Kalp Kumbh’, is a symbol of our rich cultural and religious heritage. This fair of our Chhattisgarh is not only a center of devotion and faith, but also gives the message of unity, harmony and preservation of tradition in the society, governor said .
The Governor further said that Rajim has been the center of saints and devotees for centuries. The famous Rajiv Lochan temple here, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is the main symbol of our faith. Apart from this, ancient temples like Lord Kuleshwar Mahadev, Ramchandra Pancheshwar Mahadev, Bhuteshwar Mahadev, Someshwar Mahadev reflect the depth of our religious and cultural heritage. The architecture of these temples also reveals the richness of our history. Panchkoshi Yatra which includes Kuleshwar, Champeshwar, Brahmaneshwar, Phanishwar, Kopeshwar Mahadev, this journey is world famous.
This year’s Rajim Kumbh Kalpa mela is even more special, because it is being organised at a time when the grand Maha Kumbh is being organised in Prayagraj ( Uttar Pradesh ) This is a unique coincidence, which reminds us of our spiritual and cultural unity. Where Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet in Prayagraj, Mahanadi, Pairi and Sodhur meet in Rajim. This is the reason why it is also called ‘Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh’. In the scriptures, the month of Magha is considered a holy month and for centuries, there has been a tradition of bathing in the Triveni Sangams during this holy period. Chhattisgarh has a tradition of religious tourism. The state has many historical, religious centers like Mahamaya Temple, Bamleshwari Mata, Danteshwari Mai, Madku Island, which preserve our cultural heritage, he added.
Chhattisgarh also has a great tradition of fairs. These fairs are not just religious events, but connect the society and the community. This is an important medium to experience the tradition and for the new generation to connect with its roots. Today, on this auspicious occasion, I bow to all the saints and devotees present here. It is said that wherever the feet of saints fall, that land itself becomes sacred. With their blessings, knowledge, harmony and positive energy spread in the society. The life of saints is always dedicated to charity and service to humanity. There are many examples in history like Valmiki, Ajamil, Angulimal, whose life was transformed by the grace of saints.
Rajim Kumbh Kalpa Mela is not only a centre of spirituality, but it also gives impetus to our social and cultural life. Lakhs of devotees and tourists come here and not only experience peace, but through this event, the message of brotherhood and unity is also spread in the society.
I wish the Chhattisgarh government and the local administration all the best for the success of this grand event. This Kalpa Kumbh not only strengthens our religious faith, but also plays an important role in the tourism and economic development of the state. He told all the devotees, tourists and all the people involved in the event that we should save our culture and traditions and pass it on to the coming generations. Our cultural heritage is our identity, and it is our responsibility to protect it . governor said .
On this occasion, there was the dignified presence of sages and saints including Dandi Swami Dr. Indubhavanand Ji Maharaj, Mahant Sadhvi Pragya Bharti Ji Maharaj, Balyogeshwar Baalyogi Rambalk Das Ji Maharaj besides , Additional Chief Secretary of Religious Affairs Department Subrat Sahu, Raipur Commissioner Mahadev Kavre, MD of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Vivek Acharya, Gariaband Collector Deepak Kumar Agarwal.
