Raipur: A big and pleasant news has come out related to the Chhattisgarh Police Department. 55 inspectors of the 1999-2000 batch, who have been waiting for promotion for a long time, will soon be promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). This promotion is not only an administrative decision, but also a tribute to the years of service, dedication and discipline of these officers.

Giving information, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that the inspectors who have been waiting for promotion for 25 years will now get its benefit. The government’s intention is that there should be timely promotion in all departments and the morale of the employees should be maintained through a transparent process.

Increase in number of posts
The biggest hurdle in this process was the number of vacant posts, which was earlier only 17. Keeping this in mind, the state government decided to increase the number of DSP posts. The Home Department had prepared a proposal and sent it to the Finance Department, from where the promotion process was started as soon as it was approved.

A total of 65 officers promoted
Apart from these 55 inspectors, 1 officer from the Reserve Inspector cadre, 1 inspector from Special Branch (SB), 1 inspector from Arms Branch and 7 officers working on the post of Company Commander have been promoted to the post of Assistant Fighter. Thus a total of 65 officers have been promoted to higher posts on the basis of their eligibility and seniority.

This decision is being considered an important step towards further strengthening the efficiency, discipline and administrative structure of the police department.
