These Honors Are the Result of Continuous Efforts Towards Improvement: Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal
Raipur: All states across the country were invited to a ‘Chintan Shivir’ (brainstorming session) organised by the National Health Authority of the Government of India in Pune (Maharashtra) on April 17 and 18, 2026, to discuss the better implementation of the scheme.
On this occasion, the State of Chhattisgarh was honored with two prestigious national-level awards for its outstanding performance in the effective operation of the scheme, its robust administrative framework, and its transparent claim management system.
Chhattisgarh was selected as the ‘Best Performing Large State’ in the following categories:
- High Trigger Efficacy
In this category, the state demonstrated remarkable efficiency in identifying suspicious claims and conducting their effective analysis. Through an advanced IT-based monitoring system and a robust audit mechanism, the timely identification of irregularities has been ensured.
- Timely Processing of Suspicious Claims
In this category, the state delivered outstanding performance in the swift resolution of suspicious claims. Transparency and accountability have been strengthened by ensuring the investigation, adjudication, and execution of claims within the stipulated timeframes.

Significant improvement has been recorded in the resolution of suspicious cases within the state, attributed to the strengthening of the claim audit mechanism, the effective implementation of a trigger-based monitoring system, and the establishment of better coordination with hospitals. Consequently, the quality of claim processing has improved, and unnecessary delays have been reduced, thereby ensuring that beneficiaries of the scheme receive timely and high-quality healthcare services.
Expressing his delight at this significant achievement attained by the state, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said , “This honor is the result of the commitment, transparency, and continuous efforts being undertaken within Chhattisgarh’s healthcare system.
Through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, we are resolved to deliver high-quality and free healthcare services to every last individual in the state.
This award is the fruit of the collective efforts of our healthcare workers, administrative team, and partner institutions. We will continue to deliver such excellence in the future as well, prioritising public service above all else.” Health Minister affirmed.
