Chhattisgarh Tableau Artists Honored at Rashtrapati Bhavan

President Droupadi Murmu Applauds Tribal Art, Artists Overwhelmed

New Delhi: The artists who participated in the Chhattisgarh tableau on Kartavya Path on Republic Day had the honor of meeting President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The artists appeared overwhelmed and deeply moved during their cordial meeting with the President.

President Droupadi Murmu praised the Chhattisgarh tableau, stating that it effectively showcased the country’s rich tribal traditions and cultural heritage. She appreciated the dedication, hard work, and vibrant performance of the artists, and also remarked, “Chhattisgarh is the best.”

The tribal artists from Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh presented a captivating performance of the traditional Mandar dance with the Chhattisgarh tableau during the Republic Day parade, which attracted the attention of the audience on Kartavya Path as well as people across the country and the world.

The artists described their meeting with the President as an unforgettable moment in their lives, saying that this honor would give them new inspiration to further promote their art, culture, and traditions with even greater dedication.

Those who met the President included a 13-member team from Naynar village in Narayanpur district, led by team leader Tej Bahadur Bhuwal. The team members were Jenu Ram Salam, Lachhu Ram, Jaitu Ram Salam, Rajim Salam, Dinesh Karanga, Jaynath Salam, Mansingh Karanga, Chandrashekhar Potai, Dhanshyam Salam, Jagannath Salam, Suresh Salam, and Dilip Gota from Ghodlapara, Naynar village.

It is noteworthy that this traditional art troupe from the Bastar region strongly presented Chhattisgarh’s unique identity on the national stage through its folk culture and dance style.
