Chhattisgarh’s biggest Dahi Handi competition today, winning team will get Rs 7.5 lakh, Bhajan singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi will perform devotional songs !

Chhattisgarh’s biggest Dahi Handi festival is being organised today at 4 pm at Dahi Handi Utsav Sthal, Avadhpuri Ground, Sri Nagar Road, Gudhiyari, Raipur, whose coordinator is Basant Agarwal. Like every year, this year too a grand event of Dahi Handi is being organised at Dahi Handi Ground, in which thousands of people will participate along with the Chief Minister of the state Vishnudev Sai and many ministers and MLAs. This year the prize money has also been increased. This time the first prize money has been kept at Rs 7 lakh 51 thousand, while the first prize for women has been kept at Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand. In this Dahi Handi program organized last year, the winner was given a prize of Rs 5.5 lakh. More than 25 teams participated in this event. This year the organizing committee has increased the prize money by more than Rs 2 lakh. That is, it has been announced to give Rs 7.5 lakh to the winning team.


Coordinator Basant Agrawal informed that with the support of Dahi Handi Utsav Samiti and Shri Hanuman Mandir Trust, teams from other states apart from the state will also participate in this Dahi Handi competition.

The winning team will be given a prize money of 8 lakhs. This will be the biggest prize money competition in the state. Lakhs of devotees including Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will also participate in this event, in view of which tight security and parking arrangements have also been made. World famous singer Baba Hansraj Raghuvanshi and Chhattisgarh’s folk singer Garima Swarna Diwakar will also perform for the entertainment of the devotees. The performance of Odisha’s Ghanta Baja and greased pillar will be the center of attraction. Artists from Vrindavan will present Krishna Leela. Apart from this, special tableaux will also be taken out by artists from many other states including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Jharkhand, apart from Chhattisgarh. Entry has been kept free for the general public.
