“The Constitution is the soul of our democracy, and social harmony is its greatest strength,” says Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in ‘Samrasta Bhoj’ organised on Tuesday April 14 , 2026 at Durga Maidan in Shankar Nagar, Raipur, on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Chief Minister Sai sat down with public representatives and citizens to share a meal and personally served food to others, conveying a strong message of social harmony and inclusiveness.

Addressing the gathering, Vishnu Deo Sai said that India, as the world’s largest democracy, takes pride in its Constitution, the drafting of which remains an enduring contribution of Babasaheb Ambedkar. He noted that the Constitution provides a framework for 140 crore citizens to live with equality, rights and dignity, forming the very foundation of the nation’s democratic ethos.
Highlighting Ambedkar’s life journey, Chief Minister Sai said that despite adverse circumstances, Babasaheb rose to the highest levels through determination and indomitable will, dedicating his life to the upliftment of the underprivileged, marginalised and weaker sections of society. He also underlined Babasaheb Ambedkar’s significant contributions towards women’s education and dignity.
Sai further observed that the social reform movement initiated by Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule for women’s education and social awareness was carried forward and strengthened by Babasaheb Ambedkar, giving it a new direction.

Referring to recent initiatives, the Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the key sites associated with Babasaheb’s life, particularly his birth, education, initiation, work and Mahaparinirvana, are being developed as the “Panch Teerth”, ensuring a lasting and meaningful tribute to his legacy.
On the occasion, Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb said that Babasaheb’s life stands as an inspiring example of struggle, education and social harmony. His ideas continue to guide society towards equality and justice, and initiatives such as Samrasta Bhoj play a vital role in strengthening social cohesion.
MLA Kiran Singh Deo, in his address, remarked that through the Constitution, Babasaheb created a robust framework for the advancement of weaker and backward sections. He added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sai, sustained efforts are being made to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in the queue.
The programme was attended by MLA Purandar Mishra, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Minority Commission Amarjeet Singh Chhabra, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh Film Development Corporation Mona Sen, along with several other public representatives and a large number of citizens.
