Performing Puja of Chhath Maiya symbolises sun worship and environmental protection: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes for Chhath Puja, the grand festival of sun worship on the eve of Chhath Puja on Sunday October 26, 2025 .

CM said that Chhath Puja is a festival of faith, purity, and gratitude to nature, which, through the worship of the Sun God and Chhath Maiya, conveys the message of the harmonious relationship between humanity and natur, he added.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai further said that every ritual of Chhath festival—from offering a ritualistic offering water ( Araghya ) to the setting sun to worshipping the rising sun—reflects the importance of discipline, restraint, and cleanliness in life. This festival strengthens the spirit of collectivism, purity, and family unity in society.

He appealed to the people of the state to take a pledge to protect the environment, maintain cleanliness of water sources, and maintain harmony in society, along with performing the Puja of God Sun on this occasion.
