Pakistan has once again pleaded with China over the steps taken by India after the Pahalgam terror attack. President Asif Ali Zardari met the Chinese ambassador and expressed concern over the action taken by India.

Tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad have escalated following the Pahalgam terror attack. India is considering options for retaliation against Pakistan. Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong met Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday and reiterated support for Pakistan. Zedong said China will continue to support Pakistan for peace and stability in South Asia.

What happened between Zedong and Zardari

According to a report by government-controlled Radio Pakistan, “Zedong met President Zardari and discussed various issues, including India-Pakistan tensions.” The report said that during the meeting, Zardari expressed concern over the steps taken by India after the Pahalgam attack and said that such steps are a threat to regional peace and stability.

26 people were killed in the terrorist attack

A terrorist attack took place in Pahalgam in South Kashmir on April 22, in which 26 people were brutally killed. Most of the people killed were tourists. After this attack, relations between India and Pakistan have deteriorated.

India took several strategic steps

Last week, India banned the import of goods coming from or passing through Pakistan and the entry of Pakistani ships in its ports. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi had said that India is committed to taking decisive action against terrorists and their helpers.

After the terror attack, India took several strategic steps against Pakistan. These include suspending the Indus Water Treaty, closing the Attari check post and reducing diplomatic relations. According to a report by Radio Pakistan, Zedong affirmed the permanent friendship between China and Pakistan and described it as a strong relationship between two brothers who have always supported each other in challenging times.
