Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday, September 25, 2026 unveiled a major development package for Mungeli district, inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 21 works worth ₹68.96 crore at Madku while announcing new projects in healthcare, tourism, education, power and public infrastructure.
The Chief Minister was attending the Angan Milan Seva, Blood Donation and Free Mega Health Camp, organised as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
Addressing the gathering, Sai said the government was working to accelerate development while ensuring that public services and welfare schemes reach people at the grassroots.
“Our government is committed to accelerating the pace of development and ensuring that public service reaches the last person in society. Villages should have good roads, better healthcare facilities, mothers and children should receive adequate nutrition, and every government scheme should reach poor and needy families easily,” Sai said.
He said the State Government was carrying forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on service, good governance and welfare of the poor.
“Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is not merely a campaign; it is a means of strengthening the resolve for public service through people’s participation,” the Chief Minister said, adding that the initiative seeks to expand access to health, nutrition, sanitation and welfare programmes while encouraging a spirit of service within society.
Governance Must Make People’s Lives Easier: Sai
Highlighting administrative reforms, Sai said good governance should ultimately be measured by the experience of ordinary citizens.
“The real meaning of good governance is that citizens should not have to run from one place to another even for their small needs, their problems should be resolved on time, and the benefits of government schemes should be easily accessible to them,” he said.

He cited initiatives including e-Office, Chief Minister Helpline 1076 and Atal Digital Seva Kendras as measures intended to make government services more accessible and transparent.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the role of the PM-JANMAN and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana schemes, saying the government’s objective was to ensure that eligible families were not deprived of benefits merely because of inadequate information or procedural difficulties.
Focus on Mothers, Children and Preventive Healthcare
Speaking about Angan Milan Seva, Sai described Anganwadi centres as an important foundation for children’s nutrition and maternal health.
“The early years of a child’s life are the most important for overall development. Special attention must therefore be given to nutrition, health, vaccination and early care,” he said.
Sai praised Mitanins, Anganwadi workers and helpers for taking health and nutrition services to remote communities.

He also urged women to give adequate attention to their own health while caring for their families.
“A healthy mother is the foundation of a healthy family, and healthy families will build a healthy and empowered Chhattisgarh,” he said.
Encouraging people to undergo regular health screening, the Chief Minister said early detection of conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and anaemia could significantly improve treatment outcomes.
He also praised voluntary blood donors, describing blood donation as one of the most meaningful forms of service to humanity.
Madku Dweep to Get Eco-Tourism Centre
Sai announced a ₹75 lakh eco-tourism centre at Madku Dweep, seeking to connect the area’s historical, religious and archaeological heritage with tourism and livelihood opportunities.

He said protecting Chhattisgarh’s heritage while making it accessible to future generations was an important responsibility.
“The State Government is moving forward by taking development and heritage together. Important places such as Madku Dweep will be conserved while necessary facilities are developed so that more people from Chhattisgarh and across the country can become familiar with this rich heritage,” Sai said.
Among other announcements, the Chief Minister approved a trauma centre at Sargaon Community Health Centre; upgrading primary schools at Pipar Dol and Lamti to middle schools; ₹15 lakh each for Tala Mahotsav and Madku Dweep Utsav; and ₹25 lakh for installing a life-size statue of Rani Avantibai Lodhi at Avantibai Lodhi College, Patharia.
He also announced an indoor stadium at Bhatapara, CC roads in 10 villages of the Bhatapara area at ₹10 lakh each, 33 KV substations at Madku and Tumadhetha, ₹30 lakh for a building in the core settlement of Chandkhuri and a community building at Madku.
₹68.96 Crore for 21 Development Works
Of the ₹68.96-crore package, completed projects worth ₹34.77 crore were inaugurated, while foundation stones were laid for new works worth ₹34.19 crore.
The projects cover roads, healthcare infrastructure and other public facilities across the Mungeli, Lormi and Bilha Assembly constituencies.
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, former Governor Ramesh Bais, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Dayal Das Baghel, Industries Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan and several legislators, public representatives and senior officials attended the programme.
Sahu highlighted the contribution of late Shantaram Saraf towards establishing Madku Dweep’s historical and archaeological significance, while Sao said the government was committed to conserving and developing the ancient heritage site.
