Third successive monthly increase adds to festive-season fuel expenses for hotels, restaurants and commercial kitchens

Key Highlights

  • A 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now costs Rs 2,820 in Delhi.
  • The revised price took effect on Sunday, November 1.
  • Commercial LPG rates have risen for three consecutive months.
  • Prices of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged.

New Delhi: The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi increased by Rs 10 to Rs 2,820 on Sunday, November 1, adding to fuel expenses for hotels, restaurants, caterers and other businesses during the festive season. The cylinder had cost Rs 2,810 following the October 1 revision.

The latest adjustment continues the upward movement in commercial cooking gas prices for the third consecutive month. Successive increases have renewed cost concerns for businesses that depend on LPG for their daily operations, particularly eateries and smaller commercial kitchens.

Although the latest increase is modest per cylinder, its cumulative effect depends on a business’s consumption. An establishment using 20 cylinders a month, for example, would spend an additional Rs 200 at the revised Delhi rate.

For food businesses, higher fuel expenditure can narrow margins when it coincides with other operating expenses. Whether establishments absorb the additional cost or adjust their prices will depend on their consumption, sales and pricing decisions.

Domestic consumers, meanwhile, face no fresh increase under the November revision, with prices of 14.2-kg household LPG cylinders remaining unchanged. Commercial and domestic cylinders fall under separate pricing categories.

The revision comes against a backdrop of fluctuations in commercial LPG prices during 2026. Reductions in July and August were followed by renewed increases from September. International fuel benchmarks and the rupee–dollar exchange rate influence monthly price revisions, while local taxes contribute to differences between markets.

For commercial consumers, the immediate impact is a further rise in recurring kitchen fuel expenditure as festive-season business gathers pace.
