Raipur: In a major recognition of sporting excellence, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday August 3, 2026 announced a ₹30 lakh cash incentive and out-of-turn promotion to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) for Commonwealth Games 2026 silver medallist Dnyaneshwari Yadav, praising her achievement as a proud moment for both the state and the nation.

The announcement was made after the Chief Minister welcomed and felicitated the Rajnandgaon-born weightlifter at the Chief Minister’s Residence in Raipur, where Dnyaneshwari was honoured for winning the silver medal in the women’s 53 kg weightlifting event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Calling her success a victory of determination, discipline and perseverance, Sai said the honour was not merely for an individual athlete but for the sporting spirit of Chhattisgarh.

Competing in her maiden Commonwealth Games, Dnyaneshwari secured the silver medal in the women’s 53 kg category after lifting a combined total of 199 kilograms, earning one of India’s most significant medals in weightlifting during the Games.
