NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate CP Radhakrishnan has filed his nomination. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and many other NDA MPs including Union Nitin Gadkari accompanied him to file the nomination papers.

The BJP-led NDA on Sunday declared Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan as its candidate for the upcoming Vice Presidential election. The announcement was made after the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting, which was attended by several senior leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After the announcement of his name, the allies also announced their support to him.
Who is CP Radhakrishnan?
Chandrapuram Ponnusamy Radhakrishnan was born on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. He was sworn in as the Governor of on 31 July 2024. Earlier, he was the Governor of Jharkhand for about one and a half years. During his Jharkhand tenure, he was also given the additional charge of Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry by the President of India. CP Radhakrishnan has more than four decades of experience in public life and politics of Tamil Nadu.
For example, CP Radhakrishnan has a lot of experience in politics and governance along with his strong position in the RSS. He has also served as a two-time Lok Sabha MP and state BJP president and governor-lieutenant governor. This long experience has made him a prominent face within the NDA. Now he is going to contest the Vice President election.
Sudarshan Reddy will file nomination on Thursday
Opposition alliance INDIA Block has named former Supreme Court judge B Sudarshan Reddy as its candidate for the Vice President election. This decision was announced by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday. INDIA Block is presenting this Vice President election as an ideological battle. Sudarshan Reddy is said to be known for his progressive views and commitment to social, economic and political justice. He will file his nomination tomorrow, Thursday.
