Raipur: Deepika Dhruv has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Journalism and Mass Communication by Shri Shankaracharya Professional University, Bhilai (Chhattisgarh). She successfully completed her research work on the topic “An Analytical Study of Balaknama”.

Deepika Dhruv conducted this research under the guidance of senior academician Dr. Dhanesh Joshi. Through her research, she presented an in-depth and analytical study of serious social issues such as child labor, poverty, and children’s rights. The research specifically emphasises the crucial importance of giving children the opportunity to express their problems, experiences, and emotions in their own words.

The research clarifies that Balaknama is a monthly newspaper published in Hindi, with a reach extending to Delhi-NCR and surrounding states. While mainstream media often overlooks the voices of marginalised children, Balaknama provides them with a powerful platform to speak for themselves, shape their own identities, and become aware of their rights. It is not merely a newspaper, but an effective medium for children’s dignity, expression, and empowerment.

Upon receiving the PhD degree, Deepika Dhruv was congratulated by the university’s professors, researchers, well-wishers, and her parents and family members, who also wished her a bright future.
