New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its much-awaited first list for the Delhi Assembly elections. The party has given tickets to 29 candidates in this list. The party has also expressed confidence in those who rebelled against the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress and joined the BJP. This includes the names of Kailash Gehlot, Rajkumar Anand and Arvinder Singh Lovely. BJP has given ticket to Kailash Gehlot from Bijwasan assembly seat, while Rajkumar Anand has been given ticket from Patel Nagar and Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhinagar seat.

Apart from this, two former MPs – Pravesh Verma and Ramesh Bidhuri have got tickets in BJP’s first list. Apart from this, the party has also expressed confidence in 4 former ministers – Kailash Gehlot, Arvinder Lovely, Rajkumar Chauhan, Rajkumar Anand. Kailash Gehlot and Rajkumar Anand are currently MLAs, both leaders have joined BJP from Aam Aadmi Party. Apart from this, current BJP MLAs – Jitendra Mahajan, Ajay Mahawar, Vijendra Gupta and OP Sharma have also got tickets.

Kailash Gehlot has been the Transport Minister in the AAP government

First of all, if we talk about Kailash Gehlot, he has been a veteran leader of Aam Aadmi Party and Transport Minister, he recently decided to join BJP, expressing dissatisfaction with Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership and the party’s policies, his rebellion came to the fore when the controversy started over some policy decisions of the AAP government. In his resignation, Kailash Gehlot had accused the AAP government of not fulfilling the promises made to the public. In his letter, he had criticized Kejriwal and said that the government made promises on cleaning the Yamuna and other issues, but failed to fulfill them. Gehlot had also criticized the construction of Kejriwal’s bungalow. He called it a “shameful and strange controversy” and said that the party has now deviated from the interests of the common man. Most of the time of the government is spent fighting with the central government, due to which the real progress of Delhi is getting affected.

Kailash was given a big responsibility by BJP

Soon after Kailash Gehlot joined BJP, he was given a big responsibility, the party appointed him as a member of the Delhi Assembly Election Coordination Committee. After joining BJP, former Delhi minister Kailash Gehlot had said that leaving the ruling party in Delhi was a very difficult decision for him, but it had become necessary.

Rajkumar Anand had also left AAP

Before Kailash Gehlot, Aam Aadmi Party had received another shock in the form of Rajkumar Anand, when he left AAP and joined BJP. Rajkumar Anand had decided to join BJP in the month of July last year. He resigned from the post of minister before the Lok Sabha elections and joined BSP. After this he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Rajkumar Anand resigned from the cabinet expressing dissatisfaction over the party’s policy on corruption. His resignation was directly related to the liquor policy case, in which prominent leaders including Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia were arrested.

Arvinder Singh Lovely rebelled against Congress and joined BJP

Arvind Singh Lovely had also rebelled against Congress and joined BJP. In his resignation letter sent to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Lovely had said that he was feeling handicapped because all the unanimous decisions taken by the senior leaders of Delhi were ‘unilaterally vetoed’ by Deepak Babaria. Lovely had said that the Delhi Congress unit was against the alliance with AAP, but the party high command went ahead with it.
