Two-day event on September 5–6 to bring together digital creators, influencers and videographers from across Chhattisgarh
Raipur: As digital platforms increasingly shape the way places, cultures and local stories reach wider audiences, Dhamtari is preparing to bring Chhattisgarh’s young content creators together for an initiative aimed at combining creativity, technology and local identity.
The Dhamtari district administration will organise a two-day ‘Monsoon Creators Meet-Up’ on September 5 and 6 under its Dhamtari YUVA (Youth Skill Upgradation and Value Addition) initiative. The event is designed to provide a common platform for young digital creators, social media influencers and videographers from across the State to sharpen their skills, exchange experiences and explore the possibilities offered by the rapidly expanding digital economy.
More than simply a gathering of social media creators, the initiative seeks to use digital storytelling as a means of taking Chhattisgarh’s culture, landscapes and local development stories to audiences beyond the State.
Creators from Across Chhattisgarh to Share Their Journeys
Several known digital creators from different parts of Chhattisgarh are expected to participate in the meet-up. They include Vishal Sagar from Bastar, Deepak Patel from Bilaspur, Shubham from Jagdalpur, Anupam Sinha from Durg, and Khileshwar and Domendra Nishad from Dhamtari.
The participating creators will share their experiences, creative journeys and technical knowledge with young aspirants. Such interaction is expected to give emerging creators an opportunity to understand not only how engaging content is produced, but also how a distinctive digital identity can be built in an increasingly competitive online environment.
The initiative assumes particular significance at a time when a smartphone and an original idea can take a story from a remote village to audiences across the country — and sometimes around the world. For districts rich in natural and cultural resources, digital storytelling can therefore become an important bridge between local communities and global audiences.
Putting Dhamtari’s Tourism and Culture on the Digital Map
Dhamtari possesses a combination of forests, water bodies, rural landscapes and cultural traditions that offers considerable scope for visual storytelling. The meet-up seeks to encourage creators to present these dimensions through contemporary digital formats.
The internationally known Gangrel reservoir, the traditions of forest communities, natural landscapes and local development initiatives are among the subjects expected to find space in the content produced and discussed during the event.
Instead of presenting tourism merely through conventional publicity, the initiative seeks to harness the language of today’s digital generation — short videos, reels, photographs, visual narratives and personal storytelling.
A young creator documenting a village tradition, a local food practice or an unexplored landscape can potentially introduce it to thousands of viewers. In this sense, digital creators are increasingly becoming informal ambassadors of the places from which their stories emerge.
From Content Creation to Digital Entrepreneurship
An important component of the meet-up will be skill development. Participants will have opportunities to learn about digital content creation, effective storytelling, the finer aspects of videography, personal branding and the functioning of social media algorithms.
The larger objective is to help young people understand that content creation need not remain merely a hobby or a pursuit of online popularity. When combined with professional skills, credibility and consistency, it can also open avenues in digital entrepreneurship, tourism promotion, videography, marketing and other creative industries.
Networking among creators from different districts could further encourage collaboration and allow local talent to reach audiences beyond its immediate geographical boundaries.
The district administration believes that such interaction can contribute to the creation of new opportunities for young people at the local level while simultaneously strengthening Dhamtari’s digital presence.
The Collector described the initiative as a platform for nurturing young talent, observing that technological competence and innovation among youth are important foundations of development. The administration expects the event to help talented young creators gain wider recognition.
