Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Extends Heartfelt Congratulations

Raipur: Students from Chhattisgarh’s Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) delivered an exceptional performance at the 4th National Sports Competition held in Sundargarh, Odisha, from November 11 to 15, 2025, securing the second position nationwide. Nearly 7,000 participants from across India took part in the event. Representing Chhattisgarh, a 516-member contingent, including 466 student athletes selected through school, district, divisional, and state-level trials across 75 EMRS institutions participated in the national competition.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the entire team, noting that this achievement reflects the State government’s sustained efforts to strengthen tribal education, enhance sports infrastructure, and continuously encourage young athletes.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the team’s remarkable success at the 4th EMRS National Sports Competition 2025, saying, “Chhattisgarh’s second-place finish is a testament to the relentless hard work, dedication, and outstanding talent of our young players. My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the entire contingent.”

He further added that the State government is consistently working to expand sports facilities, upgrade training and coaching systems, and strengthen infrastructure in residential schools to nurture tribal talent. He expressed gratitude to the students, coaches, school management, and parents whose motivation and support enabled the children to excel on a national platform.

Chhattisgarh’s athletes delivered a stellar medal haul, winning a total of 162 medals including 55 gold, 43 silver, and 64 bronze.
