According to reports, Musk was expected to bring up EV tarriffs and a Starlink-ISRO collaboration at the meeting.
After greeting PM Modi, Musk revealed his gift for the Indian PM. The two were seen laughing and chatting all along.
PM Narendra Modi started off his first day in Washington with a meeting with US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. After the Musk meeting, he will have a one-on-one session with former co-chief of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Vivek Ramaswamy. The Indian Prime Minister will also have a bilateral meet and dinner with President Donald Trump.
Ahead of the PM’s meetin with Trump, a senior White House official said, “Today, President Trump will host PM Modi of India for an official working visit. This will include a bilateral meeting, joint press conference and dinner. President Trump is proud of his close relationship with PM Modi and his record of strengthening ties between the US and India. He is looking forward to continuing to build on the bonds of friendship between our two countries.”
PM Modi had recalled ‘fond memories’ of working with the US president during his meeting with VP JD Vance, on the sidelines of the AI Summit in France.
