CBI Books former CGPSC chairman Sonawani and ex- secretary for alleged corruption

The CBI on Monday November 18, 2024 conducted searches at the residential premises of Taman Singh Sonawani, Secretary Dhruv (both booked in the FIR) and others at Raipur and Bhilai.

Raipur: CBI has arrested former Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani and others in connection with an alleged “nepotism” racket in which “ineligible” family members of politicians, PSC officials and public servant were recruited in lucrative government jobs during the Congress rule . Sonwani is also accused of allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 45 lakh from 2 candidates in lieu of selection as Deputy Collector .
