One such case has come to light where after befriending on social media, a person from the city was cheated of Rs 21 lakh by threatening to upload his obscene video on social media. The victim has complained about this in the police station. Cyber police has registered a crime in the case and started investigation.

Actually, a person from the city has complained in the cyber police station that a friend request came on his mobile from a Facebook ID. He befriended the person with the Facebook ID. The conversation between the two continued for a long time. During this time, the person with the Facebook ID got his obscene video by enticing him in conversation. After this, she started blackmailing him by threatening to make his obscene video viral on social media. In several installments, the said person transferred Rs 21 lakh to the bank account mentioned. Even after that, money is being demanded from him continuously. On his report in the cyber police station, a crime has been registered against the unknown Facebook ID holder and investigation has started.
