German Foreign Minister Wadeful said that we are shocked by the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. India certainly has every right to defend itself against terrorism. However, it is also a fact that a ceasefire has now been implemented, which we greatly appreciate. He stressed on maintaining the ceasefire and finding a solution through mutual dialogue.

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India’s counter-attack has received strong support from Germany. German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul strongly condemned the terrorist attack and said that India has full right to self-defense against terrorism.

Wadeful said that we are shocked by the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. India certainly has every right to defend itself against terrorism. However, it is also a fact that a ceasefire has now come into effect, which we greatly appreciate. He emphasized on maintaining the ceasefire and finding a solution through mutual dialogue.

The German Foreign Minister said that there have been regular talks between India and Germany on anti-terrorism cooperation and it will be strengthened further in the coming times.

India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is currently on a three-nation European tour, he bluntly said in a press conference in Berlin that India’s attitude towards terrorism is very clear. India will not tolerate terrorism at all. India will never succumb to nuclear blackmail. Jaishankar clarified that India will talk with Pakistan only through bilateral means. It will not accept the mediation or pressure of any third party. He said that there should be no confusion on any side in this regard.

Germany’s support is important for India

Jaishankar welcomed Germany’s support and said that we appreciate that Germany has understood India’s right to self-defense. Every country has the right to defend itself against terrorism, this is a sign of partnership and mutual trust.

India will consider cross-border terrorist incident as an act of war

Let us tell you that on April 22, 2025 there was a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 tourists were killed after asking their religion, after which India retaliated. Indian security forces carried out Operation Sindoor on the night of 6-7 May, 2025 . Under this operation, Indian forces carried out air strikes on 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). This action was taken at around 1:30 pm and its aim was to destroy the launchpads and weapons depots of terrorists. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that from now on, India will consider any cross-border terrorist incident as an act of war.
