P Harish said that ‘In the last four decades, more than 20 thousand people of India have lost their lives in terrorist attacks and the most recent terrorist attack was in Pahalgam, in which innocent tourists were targeted. Despite this, India acted with restraint.’

Giving a befitting reply to Pakistan’s propaganda on the Indus Water Treaty, India said in the United Nations that Pakistan has already violated the spirit of the Indus Water Treaty by imposing three wars on India and committing thousands of terrorist incidents. India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Parvathaneni Harish said during a program on Friday that the Pakistani delegation is spreading propaganda regarding the Indus Water Treaty. India has always behaved responsibly.

Pakistan is violating the preamble of the treaty itself

After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India adopted a tough stand and suspended the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan. On Friday, the Area Formula meeting of the Security Council was organized in the United Nations. The issue of this meeting was the security of water in the conflict. In this meeting, Pakistan made baseless and misleading allegations against India for breaking the Indus Water Treaty. To which India’s Permanent Representative gave a befitting reply to Pakistan’s propaganda with facts. Indian representative P Harish said that 65 years ago India signed the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan in good spirit. Referring to the preamble of the treaty, P. Harish said that ‘It is clearly written in the preamble that this treaty was signed with good spirit and friendship, but Pakistan has clearly violated this spirit in the last 65 years and fought three wars against India and carried out thousands of terrorist attacks.’

‘Pakistan rejected India’s appeal to revise the treaty every time’

P Harish said that ‘In the last four decades, more than 20 thousand people of India have lost their lives in terrorist attacks and the most recent terrorist attack was in Pahalgam, in which innocent tourists were targeted. Despite this, India acted with restraint.’ The Indian diplomat said that Pakistan wants to hold the lives of common citizens in India hostage through cross-border terrorism and also wants to disrupt religious harmony and economic prosperity. Showing the mirror to Pakistan, Harish said that we had asked Pakistan several times to revise the Indus Water Treaty, but Islamabad rejected this proposal every time.

Pakistan is not allowing to improve dam construction

P Harish said that technology has changed and it has also changed the work of dam construction, which has improved the safety and operation of dams. The safety of many old dams is at risk, but Pakistan has been opposing any change in the construction of these dams, even though it was approved under the treaty. This is the reason why India has decided to suspend the Indus Water Treaty until Pakistan, which is the center of terrorism, stops supporting cross-border terrorism. It is clear that Pakistan has violated the Indus Water Treaty.
