Nearly half of India’s workforce plans a job change within six months as employees prioritise work-life balance, career growth and competitive pay

New Delhi: Technology giant Google has been ranked India’s most attractive employer brand in the Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2026, followed by Tata Group and Amazon, reflecting the growing importance of workplace culture, career development and employee wellbeing in attracting talent.

The findings, released on Wednesday August 5, 2026 , are based on responses from over 1.75 lakh participants across 34 global markets, including nearly 3,500 respondents in India.

According to the survey, 46 per cent of Indian professionals intend to change jobs within the next six months, while 32 per cent reported changing employers during the past six months, highlighting continued mobility in the country’s workforce.

Top 10 Employer Brands in India

Besides Google, the report ranked the following companies among India’s most attractive employers:

  1. Google
  2. Tata Group
  3. Amazon
  4. Samsung India
  5. Infosys
  6. Reliance Industries
  7. ITC Group
  8. Hindustan Unilever
  9. Mahindra & Mahindra
  10. Dell Technologies

Work-Life Balance Tops Employee Priorities

The report found that work-life balance remains the most important factor influencing employment decisions among Indian professionals. Other key considerations include:

  • Equal opportunities at the workplace
  • Career growth and progression
  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Strong organisational reputation

These elements together form the core Employee Value Proposition (EVP) sought by today’s workforce.

Balanced Employers Will Lead the Future

Commenting on the findings, Narayan Iyer, Managing Director, Randstad India, said organisations need to move beyond offering only financial incentives to retain skilled professionals.

“With nearly half of the workforce contemplating a career move over the next six months, enterprise resilience depends on looking far beyond surface-level benefits. Talent expectations are evolving faster than organisational structures,” he said.

He added that as India continues to attract global investment and strengthen its economic position, organisations that redesign their talent strategies will enjoy a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining skilled employees.

According to the report, the future belongs to “balanced employers”—companies capable of simultaneously providing meaningful work, career advancement, inclusivity, flexibility, employee wellbeing and competitive rewards.

Digital Talent Has Different Expectations

The survey also highlighted that professionals in the digital sector differ from the broader workforce. While most employees place work-life balance at the top of their priorities, digital professionals rank competitive salaries first and are more likely to switch employers due to limited career advancement opportunities.

The report further noted that performance recognition, career continuity, and dependable salary and benefits remain the strongest contributors to employees’ sense of job security.
