Gyanesh Kumar will be the next Chief Election Commissioner of the country, decision taken in a meeting led by PM Modi

In the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the name of Gyanesh Kumar has been approved as the next Chief Election Commissioner. He will take charge after the retirement of the current CEC. Rajiv Kumar is retiring on 18 February.

The Law Ministry has issued a notification in the name of Gyanesh Kumar for appointment as the next CEC.
