India vs Bangladesh Match Highlights: In the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian team played its first match against Bangladesh on Thursday. In this match played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the Indian team won by 6 wickets. In the match, Bangladesh had given a target of 229 runs.

India vs Bangladesh Match Highlights: Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team has started the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with a bang with a win. Team India played its first match in the tournament on Thursday February 20 , 2025 against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. In this match, the Indian team won by 6 wickets.

The heroes of the match were Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami and star opener Shubman Gill. First Shami showed sharpness in bowling and took 5 wickets. After this, he attacked strongly in batting and scored a century in a rapid style.

Gill scored his second consecutive ODI century

After winning the toss and batting first, Bangladesh gave a target of 229 runs. In reply, the Indian team won the match in 46.3 overs by losing 4 wickets. Opener Shubman Gill played an unbeaten innings of 101 runs in 129 balls. While KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 41 runs.

Gill completed his century in 125 balls. This is his second consecutive century in ODI. Earlier, he had scored 112 runs in the last match of the series against England. Apart from him, captain Rohit Sharma also scored 41 runs. Rishad Hussain took 2 wickets for Bangladesh. While Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman took 1-1 wickets.

The Indian team had a great start

The Indian team had a great start while chasing the target in the match. Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill together made a partnership of 69 runs in 9.5 overs. Taskin Ahmed broke this partnership by getting Rohit Sharma caught out by Rishad Hussain. Rohit scored 41 runs in 36 balls, which included seven fours. After this, there was a partnership of 43 runs for the second wicket between Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill.

Virat Kohli was set at the crease but while trying to hit a cut shot on the ball of leg-spinner Rishad Hussain, he got caught by Soumya Sarkar. Kohli scored 22 runs in 38 balls, which included a four. Shortly after Kohli’s dismissal, Shubman Gill completed his fifty. Shubman scored 50 or more in the fourth consecutive ODI match, while a big innings was expected from Shreyas Iyer, but he became the victim of Mustafizur Rahman after scoring 15 runs. Tauheed played a century innings for Bangladesh

In the match, Bangladesh won the toss and batted first and scored 228 runs in 49.4 overs. Bangladesh had a very bad start. In the very first over of the match, Mohammad Shami got Soumya Sarkar (0) caught by wicketkeeper KL Rahul. Then in the next over, Harshit Rana got captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto (0) caught by Virat Kohli. At the time of Shanto’s dismissal, the score was 2 runs for 2 wickets. In the seventh over, Shami gave the third success to the Indian team by dismissing Mehdi Hasan Miraz (5). Mehdi’s catch was caught by Shubman Gill.

After this, Akshar Patel worsened the condition of Bangladesh by taking two wickets in the 9th over. Akshar first dismissed Tanjid Hasan (25), who was set at the crease. Then on the next ball, he dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim (0). At the time of Mushfiqur’s dismissal, Bangladesh’s score was 35 runs for 5 wickets. Akshar had a chance to take a hat-trick, but Rohit Sharma dropped an easy catch. Zaker Ali took advantage of this life and along with Tauheed Hridoy, made a partnership of 154 runs for the sixth wicket.

Zaker Ali completed his fifty in 87 balls, while Tauheed Hridoy completed his fifty in 85 balls. During this, both the batsmen hit three fours each. This partnership was ended by Mohammed Shami, who got Zaker caught out by Virat Kohli. Zaker scored 68 runs in 114 balls with the help of 4 fours. By dismissing Zaker, Mohammed Shami also completed his 200 wickets in ODI International. Bangladesh suffered the seventh blow in the form of Rishad Hussain, who became the victim of Harshit Rana after scoring 18 runs. Shami then bowled Tanjim Saqib on a personal score of 0.

Tauheed Hridoy completed his century shortly after Tanjim Hasan Sakib was dismissed. This was the first century of Hridoy’s ODI career. Taskin Ahmed returned to the pavilion shortly after Hridoy’s century, who was taken by Shami. This was Shami’s fifth wicket in the innings. Hridoy was dismissed as the last wicket, who was sent to the pavilion by Harshit Rana. Hridoy scored 100 runs in 118 balls with the help of 6 fours and two sixes. From India’s side, Shami took five wickets, Harshit Rana took three wickets. Akshar got two wickets.
