Addressing a state-level function on the occasion of Independence Day in Punjab, in Faridkot, CM Mann said that along with economic progress, Punjab has initiated Road Safety Force which has led to a significant reduction of 48% in road accident deaths.
Faridkot: Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday August 15, 2025 hoisted the tricolour in Faridkot. He said that in a major achievement that will strengthen the economy of Punjab, an investment of Rs 1.14 lakh crore has been attracted, which will create employment opportunities for about 4 lakh youth of the state. This announcement is an important step towards industrial development and employment generation in the state.
Along with economic progress, Punjab has launched Road Safety Force, which has led to a significant reduction of 48% in road accident deaths. This force is playing a vital role in enhancing road safety and ensuring safe travel for citizens. The state government has also reiterated its commitment to honor its martyrs.
At the same time, the families of the martyrs are now being given an honorarium of ₹ 1 crore, which is a symbol of respect and support for their sacrifice. To further strengthen the infrastructure of Punjab, construction of 19,000 kilometers of new roads will soon be started.
He was welcomed by Faridkot AAP MLA Gurditt Singh Sekhon and District Planning Committee Chairman Gurtej Singh Khosa, Faridkot Range DIG Ashwini Kapoor, Deputy Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur and SSP Dr. Pragya Jain. A contingent of district police saluted him. The Chief Minister bowed at the historic Gurdwara Tilla Baba Farid before the Independence Day celebrations.
