‘India took revenge on us…’, why are Pakistanis angry about Indonesia’s President

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto

On the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day, Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto attended the New Delhi parade as the chief guest. Due to his visit to New Delhi, the Indonesian President cancelled his plan to go directly to Pakistan after India. Obviously, this matter is being discussed in full swing in Pakistan. No official statement has come from the Shahbaz government, but common people who are well versed with Pakistan’s foreign affairs are definitely giving different reactions.

On the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the New Delhi parade as the chief guest. According to Pakistani media reports, the Indonesian President had earlier planned to leave for Pakistan from India on the evening of 26 January. However, India did not like the Indonesian President’s direct visit to Pakistan from New Delhi. If sources are to be believed, diplomatic pressure was exerted from India, after which the Indonesian government changed its plan.

The Indonesian government decided that the President would visit Malaysia instead of Pakistan after India. On the other hand, Pakistan had no idea that something like this could happen. The Shahbaz government had even started preparations to welcome the President of Indonesia. Even a minister of the government was entrusted with the responsibility of preparations. But in the end, the President of Indonesia chose not to visit Pakistan.

Obviously, the Shahbaz Sharif government of Pakistan would not have digested this diplomatic success of India. Although, no official statement has come from the Shahbaz government, but common people who are experts in foreign affairs of Pakistan are definitely giving different reactions.

Pakistani journalists and experts got angry

Pakistani YouTuber and foreign affairs expert Arzoo Kazmi said in this matter that, India did not get any other guest for Republic Day. They invited the President of Indonesia on 26 January. Whereas the Prime Minister of Pakistan had also started preparations for the President of Indonesia coming to Islamabad on 26 January. He had also put a minister of the government, Ehsan Iqbal, on duty.

Arzoo Kazmi further said that the Narendra Modi government must have known that Pakistan had already invited the President of Indonesia. Despite this, the Narendra Modi government deliberately called the President of Indonesia to India.

Arzoo Kazmi said that the Narendra Modi government must have lured the President of Indonesia with trade, and also lured him with many other kinds of inducements and coaxed him to India. Arzoo Kazmi further said that the President of Indonesia must have thought that going to India would be more beneficial than going to Pakistan, as he would get something from there. Arzoo further said that the President of Indonesia could have gone to Pakistan even after India, but India deliberately did not let him do so.

India took revenge by stopping the President of Indonesia – Qamar Cheema

Qamar Cheema, a member of a Pakistani think tank and an expert on foreign affairs, says that the President of Indonesia is a very smart player. He said that India has also taken its revenge through the President of Indonesia. The closer Pakistan is to Bangladesh, the more India will take its revenge in different ways. Therefore, Pakistan is not at fault for the Indonesian President not coming to Islamabad.

Qamar Cheema said that, on the pretext of the President of Indonesia, India has somehow taken revenge from Pakistan for Bangladesh. India is not at all happy with what happened in Bangladesh in the recent days. India is upset with the increasing interference of Pakistan in Bangladesh and in return it wants to show what it can do. By stopping the visit of the President of Indonesia to Pakistan, India has also shown what it can do.

How is the reaction of the common people of Pakistan in this matter?

When Sana Amjad, a famous YouTuber of Pakistan, asked questions about this to the common people there, a young man Sahim said that, if they are not coming to Pakistan under the influence of India, then they are looking at their business and their benefit. Pakistan is not able to give anything to the world, we are begging in front of the world, we do not have so much strength that the President of Indonesia could choose us against India.

Sahim further said that, Indonesia is a Muslim country, just because of this, it did not make any sense for the President of that country to come to Pakistan instead of India. In today’s time, countries build relationships based on economics, not religion
Another youth said that if the President of Indonesia did not come to our country, then we should understand that we are wrong. The youth further said that if people are choosing India, then it is so capable. Indonesia also has to see which will prove to be more economically beneficial for it. Everyone looks at their own benefit.

The Pakistani youth further said that India is in demand in the world but not Pakistan. Pakistan has no value at all. Pakistan should also become a capitalist like India. The President of Indonesia went to India only because Pakistan would not be able to give him anything while leaving anyway. Whereas he will get a lot from India. Another Pakistani youth said that in the case of cancellation of the plan of the President of Indonesia, the role of the Shahbaz Sharif government is to see where it is taking the people. If he has gone there, then it is clear that India is a big economy and is more credible. That is why he has chosen India.
