Tehran: Iran remains in contact with mediators over its proposal to end the conflict with the United States, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Wednesday, October 28. He indicated that the proposed seven-day plan could be implemented in an even shorter period if the necessary arrangements were agreed. ated Tehran’s willingness to pursue a diplomatic solution while maintaining military readiness.

“Iran continues to give diplomacy a chance to succeed,” Araghchi said, adding that the country’s armed forces remained prepared to defend it.

He said discussions with intermediaries were focused on finding arrangements that would allow the proposal to move forward. His remarks outlined a possible timetable rather than announcing an agreement or a confirmed implementation date.

Iran conveyed the proposal to Washington through Qatari mediators in September. It links the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and renewed negotiations to steps sought from the United States, including an end to hostilities, the removal of the naval blockade on Iranian ports, relief from restrictions on oil exports and access to frozen assets.

Under the proposed sequence, initial measures would be followed by the restoration of normal commercial shipping through the strait and the resumption of negotiations towards a comprehensive settlement. These measures remain subject to agreement between the sides
