On 6 December 2019, the Sub-Divisional Officer Korba had issued a permanent social status certificate of Other Backward Classes ( OBC) to Rajkishore Prasad. In the case, the committee has cancelled his caste certificate after investigating many aspects.
Congress Mayor of Korba Municipal Corporation Rajkishore Prasad was issued a caste certificate of Other Backward Classes (OBC) by the Sub-Divisional Officer Korba on 6 December 2019. During the urban body elections held in 2019, the number of BJP councillors was higher. Despite this, due to cross voting during the election for the post of mayor, Raj Kishore Prasad of Congress was elected mayor. Right after that , the BJP, making its mayor candidate Ritu Chaurasia the applicant, filed a petition before the District Judge challenging the caste certificate of Mayor Rajkishore.
