Raipur: “Our government is working with unwavering determination to shape a bright future for the tribal community. Driven by the steadfast resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, we are now successfully restoring happiness and peace in the Bastar region. For nearly 40 years, Bastar remained untouched by development and was plagued by Naxalite influence for a prolonged period; however, circumstances are now changing rapidly.”

He expressed confidence that the state is fast progressing towards becoming free from Naxalism—a transition that will usher in a new era of peace, happiness, and prosperity for the tribal community. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai made these remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of the two-day ‘Adi Parab’ festival, held at the Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI) campus in Nava Raipur.

Chief Minister Sai noted that the theme for ‘Adi Parab’ was aptly chosen as ‘From Tradition to Identity’ (Parampara se Pehchan Tak). This event was organized with the objective of providing a shared platform to showcase Chhattisgarh’s rich tribal culture, art, and traditions, featuring the participation of tribal folk artists from Chhattisgarh, as well as from Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand.

He highlighted that people from 43 distinct tribal communities across the state gathered on a single platform, symbolizing our rich cultural diversity and heritage. The Chief Minister congratulated the entire departmental team for the successful organization of the event and extended his best wishes regarding the ‘Golden Book of World Records’ honor bestowed upon the ‘Adi Parab’ art and attire showcase. On this occasion, with the objective of providing better opportunities for higher education and research to the youth of the tribal community, the Chief Minister inaugurated a 100-seater hostel constructed at a cost of ₹5 crore within the TRTI campus.

The Chief Minister stated that such events hold special significance in Chhattisgarh—a state with a predominantly tribal population—as they showcase the richness and diversity of our tribal culture and traditions. He noted that this event presented a wonderful confluence of traditional art, handicrafts, local markets (Haat-Bazaar), and traditional cuisine. Our folk traditions, he emphasized, constitute our true identity.

The Chief Minister mentioned that of the two museums located on the premises, one is dedicated to the life saga of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh. He recalled that on November 1, 2025—marking the Silver Jubilee of Chhattisgarh’s State Foundation Day—Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had inaugurated the country’s first digital ‘Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial-cum-Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum,’ an occasion of immense pride for all of us.

The Chief Minister further stated that the second tribal museum offers a vivid portrayal of the traditional attire and customs associated with various milestones of tribal life, including rituals related to birth, marriage, and death. He emphasized that amidst the race for modernity, we must strive to preserve our cultural heritage, which faces the risk of fading away.

He remarked that it is our good fortune that, thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the welfare of the tribal community currently ranks among the nation’s highest priorities. He highlighted that Smt. Droupadi Murmu—a daughter of the tribal community—was given the opportunity to ascend to the country’s highest constitutional office, that of the President; this, he noted, is a matter of immense pride for the entire tribal community.

The Chief Minister announced that through the ‘Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan’ (Tribal Village Upliftment Campaign), 6,691 identified settlements across Chhattisgarh are currently undergoing comprehensive revitalization. Integrating the most marginalized tribal groups into the mainstream remains one of the government’s foremost priorities.

He added that through the ‘PM JANMAN’ scheme, essential amenities—including roads, housing, and other basic infrastructure—are being provided to particularly vulnerable tribal groups. Under this scheme, more than 56,000 families across over 2,300 PVTG settlements in the state are benefiting, the CM affirmed.
