Mahant Kaushal Giri of Juna Akhara, who made a 13-year-old minor a Sadhvi and received her as donation, has been expelled from the Akhara for seven years. He was called Laturi in the village
In conversation with the villagers here, it was found that Kaushal Giri Maharaj is currently about 38 years old. The name of his village was Laturi. His father’s name was Bengali Raghuvanshi and mother’s name was Asha Devi. Both have passed away. He used to be engrossed in worship since the age of 6.
Had religious feelings since childhood
He used to worship with his guru Narsingh Giri at a temple in the village. He had religious feelings since childhood. After some time, he left home, family and village. People did not have any specific information about Maharaj, but the people of the village still have faith in Kaushal Giri Maharaj.
Did not come even on father’s death
His brother Bunty says that he did not come home even after father’s death and neither did he have any feelings towards the family. Told that all three of us brothers including Sukhbir, Bhim Singh work as laborers. Mahant Ramgiri Baba, who lives at the village temple, said that Kaushal Giri Baba had last come in June 2024. He stayed at the temple overnight.
Visited the temple many times
He has come to the temple three to four times in the last 10 years. Uncle Ramesh Singh says that Baba has no attachment with the village. If he comes sometimes, then he goes back from the temple itself.
He did Puja standing for seven days
Once during Bhagwat Katha, he did Puja standing for seven days continuously. The villagers and family members do not even know where Baba lives at present, where is his ashram.
