Seven-day state mourning announced
The central government has announced a seven-day state mourning across the country from December 26, 2024 to January 1, 2025, following the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at AIIMS Hospital in New Delhi on December 26, 2024. During this period, the national flag will fly at half-mast at all places where it is traditionally hoisted and all official events will remain suspended.
