Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today on Monday March 30, 2026 attended the convocation ceremony of Sub-Inspector cadre trainees at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose State Police Academy in Chandkhuri.
He inspected the passing out parade and took the salute, congratulating the officers of Subedar, Sub-Inspector and Platoon Commander ranks on the successful completion of their training.
A total of 859 trainees completed their training in this session, including 54 Subedars, 528 Sub-Inspectors (GD), 2 Sub-Inspectors (Computer), 1 Sub-Inspector (Radio), 1 Sub-Inspector (Fingerprint), 68 Sub-Inspectors (SB), and 205 Platoon Commanders.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sai described the occasion as a defining milestone in the lives of the trainees, marking their transition into dedicated service of the nation and Chhattisgarh Mahtari. He said that this achievement, earned through rigorous training, is a matter of pride not only for the trainees but also for their families and the entire state. Recalling that he had handed over appointment letters to many of these young officers last year, he observed that while they possessed talent then, they now embody discipline, confidence and leadership—qualities essential for effective policing.
Emphasising the dignity and responsibility of police service, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that integrity forms the bedrock of any esteemed service. He reminded the trainees that the foremost duty of the police is to protect citizens, and that people instinctively turn to the police in moments of fear and insecurity.
“Maintaining public trust is the greatest responsibility of the police,” he said, adding that the uniform is not merely a symbol of authority, but a solemn commitment to public safety and honour that must be upheld under all circumstances. He stressed that while responsibility is seldom easy, it can be fulfilled with competence and dedication, just as the trainees demonstrated perseverance during their training.
Drawing a cultural parallel, the Chief Minister likened the ceremony to the traditional ‘Nishkraman Sanskar’, symbolising a child’s first step into the world. He said that similarly, the trainees are now stepping out of the secure environment of the academy into the wider field of real-world responsibilities.
Highlighting reforms in policing, Shri Sai said that significant improvements have been made in Chhattisgarh over the past two years. Recruitment processes have been made transparent and swift, modern technologies and equipment have been inducted into the police force, and specialised units have been established to tackle cybercrime.
Training systems have also been made more practical and contemporary. He underlined that the police force of the future will not merely enforce laws but function as an active service provider, evolving from a reactive to a proactive agency.
Chief Minister further noted that India is undergoing a historic transition with the implementation of new legal frameworks replacing colonial-era laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. He pointed out that this batch of Sub-Inspectors is the first to have been trained under these new codes, expressing confidence that they will contribute effectively to strengthening the justice delivery system.
He emphasised that the state government is working on the three pillars of security, development and trust, and that the role of the police is central to strengthening all three. He urged officers to go beyond maintaining law and order and actively connect with society, noting that while territories may be controlled through fear, hearts can only be won through trust, The CM stated.
Referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister said that efforts are underway to build a smart, technology-driven and sensitive policing system. While the police of the future will be equipped with advanced digital tools, he emphasised that public trust can only be earned through conduct, behaviour and integrity.
Chief Minister Sai reminded the trainees that their lives are now dedicated not merely to personal pursuits but to the service of society and the state. He called upon them to uphold justice, honesty and humanity in the discharge of their duties, expressing confidence that their commitment will contribute significantly to building a safe, strong and prosperous Chhattisgarh. “You are not only guardians of law, but custodians of the hopes and trust of the people,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma also congratulated the Sub-Inspectors and their families on the successful completion of training. He said that these officers would further strengthen the Chhattisgarh Police. Highlighting the transparent and fair recruitment process under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, he said it reflects the government’s commitment to good governance. He urged the officers to foster an environment where criminals fear the law and citizens repose trust in the police.
On the occasion, trainees who excelled in various disciplines— Sarvesh Kumar, Kiran, Mitali Bugge, Devendra Singh, Bharat Kumar, Jaiprakash Rathore, Sachin Yadav, Sunder Manish, Jitendra Kumar Vaishnav, Jitendra Singh Rajput and Rakesh Vaishnav—were honoured with trophies and commendation certificates.
The program was attended by Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Pingua, ADG Deepanshu Kabra, Academy Director Ajay Yadav, Senior Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallav, along with other officials and family members of the trainees.
