Assam: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is in the headlines these days for his statements and decisions taken in the state. Meanwhile, he has taken another big decision. The CM announced that now applicants for Aadhar card in the state will have to give their NRC application receipt number. He called it necessary to stop infiltration in the state.

CM Sarma said that a detailed standard operating procedure will be prepared for this work. It will be implemented from October 1 next month. The CM says that the number of applications given for Aadhar card in the state is much more than the population there, which shows that there are suspicious citizens in the state.
