New Search Engine ChatGPT: To compete with Google, OpenAI has added a new search feature to the artificial intelligence (AI) tool ChatGPT. This new feature called ChatGPT Search is based on GPT-4, which has been introduced after several prototypes like SearchGPT.
Search on the chatbot can be used manually, as well as it can be started from the web search icon. This includes links to news and blogs. Apart from this, the ‘Source’ button gives a complete list of references, which will help in verifying the information.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in his post on social media platform X, users should use ChatGPT Plus by installing Chrome extension for better search results. Users can easily install the Chrome extension of ChatGPT Plus on their desktop.
Finding accurate information will be easy
The tech company claims that this will make it easier to find accurate information. OpenAI has added new visual designs for weather, stocks, sports, news and maps in ChatGPT search. For example, when you search for New York weather, the weather for the entire week appears interactively.
OpenAI shares a variety of search queries with third-party service providers like Bing to provide the correct answer. Users’ IP addresses are also shared to increase accuracy. These make ChatGPT’s search experience even better.
New Search Engine ChatGPT: Available for ChatGPT Plus and Team users
ChatGPT search will be used first by ChatGPT Plus and Team users. Enterprise, Edu users will get access to it in the coming weeks. After this, free users will also be able to use it in a few months.
ChatGPT search is available on website, mobile and desktop apps. OpenAI plans to bring it to voice mode and logged-out users in the future, with the aim of improving the search experience with o-1 reasoning models in areas like shopping and travel.
