Information on nutritional elements and employment opportunities is being provided.
Raipur: NIFTEM (National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management) students are providing detailed information on the importance of fiber, minerals, and antioxidants found in millets, as well as the health benefits of their regular consumption. During the training, participating women are also informed about the income and market potential of millet-based products.
25 women from self-help groups are participating in the training.
Hands-on training on the nutritional elements of millets and the use of these products in bakery products was conducted on Friday November 21 , 2025 at the Center of Excellence established by the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management in Mahua, Haryana. 25 women from self-help groups participated in this training.
The goal is to increase the nutritional level by increasing the use of coarse grains in bakery items such as Nankhatai, Nutribars, and cookies, and to create new employment opportunities for rural women.
This training is being conducted in collaboration with the district administration.
Engaging local communities with food processing-based entrepreneurship
The NIFTEM team in Jashpur is providing technical support for the production of value-added food products, as well as for packaging, branding, and marketing.
This initiative is being implemented under the Village Adoption Program, aimed at connecting local communities with food processing-based entrepreneurship.
The program is led by Prof. Prasanna Kumar G.V. and Abhimanyu Gaur, while the program is being conducted under the guidance of NIFTEM Director Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi. Mission Manager Vijay Sharan Prasad and Director of Jai Jungle FPC Jashpur Samarth Jain are playing a key role in the implementation of the program and coordination of various activities.
