More than 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) are operated under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) across the country. These centers are in almost every district of the country. In such a situation, the central government has decided to solve the problems of farmers as soon as possible by starting the unique Initiative.
Under this decision, ‘Kisan Ki Baat’ will be organised at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of every district of the country on the last Thursday of the month. This program will start from September. The Prime Minister can inaugurate the ‘Kisan Ki Baat’ program next month.
Who all will be included in the program? (Kisan Ki Baat)
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, on the occasion of dialogue with farmers invited to the Independence Day program and the launch of the National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS), said on Thursday that our job is to connect farmers and scientists. Many times farmers do not have information, so they use the wrong pesticides. It is very important to know about this. Mr. Chauhan said that the program “Kisan Ki Baat” will be broadcast on radio, where he himself, agricultural scientists and departmental officials will directly communicate with the farmers.
The Agriculture Minister had also said that to ensure that farmers get the benefits of science immediately, we will start a program named Kisan Ki Baat once a month. Scientists will sit in it, officials of the agriculture department will also sit and whatever information is necessary for the farmers will be given. He said that work will be done to provide scientific benefits to the farmers immediately. Now soon there will be a discussion with scientists and among the farmers, so that we can do the miracle of becoming food providers through agriculture.
