A scheme for construction and development of Akhara for religious and auspicious functions will be started in tribal villages.
Statues of martyrs of tribal community will be installed at identified places.

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said in his address at the state level Tribal Pride Day program at Science College Ground on Friday November 15, 2024 that the history of tribal society is very rich and glorious. Former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have worked to increase the honor, respect and pride of the tribal community. Atal ji created a separate ministry for the welfare of the tribal community and gave a new direction to the development of this community. Prime Minister Modi has started many schemes for the upliftment of the tribal community. A budget provision of Rs 24,000 crore has been made under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana and Rs 80,000 crore for Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, due to which development of infrastructure and work for the betterment of tribes is happening rapidly in tribal areas.
On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced the Chief Minister’s Samman Nidhi for the Baiga, Gunia, Sirha people belonging to the tribal community of Chhattisgarh state. Under this, they will be given financial assistance of Rs 5 thousand per year. The Chief Minister announced the launch of Akhra Nirman Vikas Yojana for religious and auspicious functions in tribal villages and the installation of statues of the martyrs of the tribal community at identified sites.
Chief Minister Sai honored the dignitaries of the tribal community, the martyrs of the tribal rebellion in the state and the family members of freedom fighters in the ceremony. He awarded the winners of the tribal painting competition. On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai released the “Atlas” related to the Forest Rights Act, the calendar “Shauryanjali” and the book published on the subject “Halba tribal’s oral traditions”. These have been published by the Chhattisgarh Tribal Development Department.
On this occasion, Rajya Sabha MP Arun Singh, who was presiding over the program, praised the work being done for the upliftment and welfare of all sections of the society in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. He said that the popularity and humility of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is appreciated all over the country. He also said that by attending the Tribal Pride Day and Inter-State Dance Festival organised in Raipur, he has witnessed “Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat”. He congratulated Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for this special event of National Tribal Pride Day.
On this occasion, he saluted the great men of the tribal community and said that only that country and society remains awakened, which remembers its culture and its great men.
Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown concern for the upliftment of the tribal community. He has implemented many schemes for the development of this community. He said that the Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead to the overall development of six and a half thousand villages and villagers of Chhattisgarh. He said that the standard of living of the people of the tribal community is improving through the PM Janman Yojana.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Tribal Welfare Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Rajya Sabha MP Arun Singh, MLAs, other public representatives and a large number of people present at the two-day Tribal Gaurav Diwas program organised at the Science College Ground in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, not only listened to the address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but also became a part of it virtually.
It is worth mentioning that on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several important projects worth Rs 6600 crore for the development and expansion of basic facilities in remote rural areas of the country. The Prime Minister said that we are spending five times the budget for the welfare of the tribal areas and tribal community of the country. Ten years ago, its budget used to be only Rs 25,000 crore, which has now increased to Rs 1,25,000 crore.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 150th birth anniversary year of Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Jamui, Bihar today. This program organised in Jamui was broadcast live across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address that we have made an honest effort to remove a very big injustice of history. The people of the tribal society did not get the place in history which they deserved. The tribal society is the one that made the prince the epitome of Lord Ram. We have fought the British in the freedom struggle. Thousands of heroes of the tribal community sacrificed their lives for their identity, culture, and independence. Thousands of tribal brothers and sisters were killed in the fight for the country’s independence, we cannot forget their contributions. We have worked to increase the pride of the tribal community. The credit for all the work started under PM Janman goes to President Draupadi Murmu ji. When she was in Jharkhand, she used to discuss with me about the backward tribes. We started the PM Janman Yojana with Rs 24 thousand crore, due to which settlements and villages of the backward tribes are being developed. Tribal dominated districts were declared as aspirational districts and their all-round development was ensured, today change is visible there.
Prime Minister Shri Modi at the beginning of his address greeted the countrymen on the 150th birth anniversary year celebrations of Lord Birsa Munda. He said that today is Kartik Purnima, Dev Deepawali and Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak ji. Today is also the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, National Tribal Pride Day. Tribal society is the one that worships the sun, air and trees, plants, mountains. He said that Birsa Munda tribal gardens will be built in the districts. Together we will make the ideas of the tribal society of the country the basis of the country’s progress. We will adopt their traditions and their ideals.
On this occasion MLAs Moti Lal Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Purandar Mishra, former minister Mahesh Gagda, former MLA Umesh Kachhap along with other public representatives, tribal society officials, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary Sonmoni Bora, Commissioner Narendra Dugga along with other officers and a large number of citizens were present.
