IN Short

*Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal assured complete treatment to the family from Bhopalpatnam

*Treatment of Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) will be done at Advanced Cardiac Institute, Raipur

Raipur: 11-year-old Shambhavi Gurla, a class 7 student of Vardali village of Bhopalpatnam block of Bijapur district, has only one question in her innocent eyes – “Papa, what has happened to me, will I be fine?”

Her father, who earns a living for the family by farming, would often remain silent on this question. Three months ago, when the doctors at the District Hospital Bijapur told her that Shambhavi had Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD), the ground slipped under her father’s feet.

The doctors suggested treatment in Raipur, but the family thought that the treatment in Raipur would cost a lot, thinking this the family’s hopes started shattering

Everyday the same discussion would take place in the house – “What will happen now? How will we get our daughter treated?” The mother would cry and hug Shambhavi and say – ” Beta everything will be fine.” But worry was clearly visible in her father’s eyes.

Finally he gathered courage and took his daughter directly to the Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal. The Health Minister met the girl and immediately spoke to Dr. Smit Srivastava at the Advanced Cardiac Institute in Raipur. The Health Minister instructed that the treatment should be started immediately. Don’t worry about the expenses, the government will take full responsibility.”

On hearing this from the Health Minister, tears started flowing from Shambhavi’s mother’s eyes. She said in a trembling voice – “Mantiriji ji, you are giving a new life to our daughter. You are no less than a doctor for us.”

On the instructions of the Health Minister, Shambhavi has been brought to ACI Raipur for treatment. Here the team of doctors will examine her and start her treatment.

It is worth mentioning that this step of the government is not just for a girl but is a message of trust for every poor family of the state.

Now seeing the expression of happiness on the faces of her parents, Shambhavi is also smiling and repeatedly asks her father – “Papa, will I be able to play soon?” And this time there are no tears in the eyes of her father, but a spark of hope.
