Chief Minister listens to 138th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at Lamkanhar in Antagarh; welcomes PM Modi’s appreciation of Chhattisgarh’s ‘Har Ghar Munga-Ghar Ghar Munga’ campaign and announces development works worth ₹85 lakh

Raipur, September 27, 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday said areas of Chhattisgarh that remained affected by Naxalism for years are now witnessing new opportunities for development and prosperity as peace and security take deeper roots.
Sai was speaking at Lamkanhar village in Antagarh block of Kanker district, where he joined schoolchildren, villagers and public representatives to listen to the 138th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio programme Mann Ki Baat at the Eklavya Model Residential School.
The occasion acquired special significance for Chhattisgarh when Prime Minister Modi referred to the state’s ‘Har Ghar Munga-Ghar Ghar Munga’ campaign while discussing efforts being made across the country to improve nutrition.

Expressing happiness over the Prime Minister’s mention of the initiative, Sai described the recognition as a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi provides a national platform through ‘Mann Ki Baat’ to positive changes and innovations emerging through public participation in different parts of the country. His repeated mention of Chhattisgarh’s efforts is an acknowledgement of the hard work and participation of the people of our state,” Sai said.
From Nutrition to Development, Chhattisgarh’s Initiatives Gain National Recognition
Sai said the ‘Har Ghar Munga-Ghar Ghar Munga’ campaign was an important community-based initiative in Chhattisgarh’s fight against malnutrition.
Munga, or moringa, is readily available and is valued for its nutritional properties. Its leaves, flowers and pods are consumed as food, and the Chief Minister urged villagers and students to plant moringa at their homes and make others aware of its nutritional benefits.
“The ‘Har Ghar Munga-Ghar Ghar Munga’ campaign is an important initiative to make Chhattisgarh’s fight against malnutrition more effective through public participation. Every family should plant munga and help spread awareness about its nutritional value,” Sai said.
During Mann Ki Baat, Modi spoke on subjects ranging from nutrition, cleanliness and environmental conservation to drug de-addiction, sporting talent, cultural heritage, the census, ‘Vocal for Local’ and India’s policy against terrorism.
The Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh’s community-driven initiatives have repeatedly found a place in Mann Ki Baat. He referred to earlier mentions of Bastar Pandum, Bastar Olympics, the historic copper plate discovered at Malhar and Korea district’s ‘5 per cent water conservation model’.
Under the Korea model, farmers use five per cent of their agricultural land for water conservation, helping provide water for crops when required while also contributing to groundwater recharge.
“Small initiatives emerging from local needs and supported by public participation can become the foundation for much wider change. When the Prime Minister brings such efforts before the country, it encourages those associated with them and inspires others to undertake positive initiatives in their own villages and cities,” Sai said.
Turning to the transformation underway in the region, the Chief Minister said Kanker, along with Bastar, had remained affected by Naxalism for a long period.
He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the resolve of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the courage of security forces and cooperation from local communities for the progress being made towards freeing Chhattisgarh from Naxalism.
“Where there was once an atmosphere of fear and insecurity, a new picture of peace, confidence and development is now emerging. As peace and security become stronger, new opportunities for development are opening in our remote regions,” Sai said.
He said Bastar had remained relatively distant from the mainstream of development for decades, but the State Government was committed to ensuring that development reached the last village and the last person.
Expansion of education, healthcare, roads, drinking water, communications, employment opportunities and other basic facilities was being accelerated across remote areas, he said.
“Our resolve is that the benefits of development must reach the last village and the last person. The State Government is working with full commitment to take peace, prosperity and development forward together,” the Chief Minister said.
Sai also announced development works worth ₹85 lakh for Lamkanhar, covering education, roads and community infrastructure.
The package includes ₹15 lakh for a community building near Sheetla Temple, ₹37 lakh for primary and middle school buildings, ₹18 lakh for a CC road at Chhote Para and ₹15 lakh for a library and laboratory at the Eklavya Model Residential School, Lamkanhar.
The Chief Minister said strengthening educational infrastructure in remote and tribal regions remained a priority and that the announced projects would benefit both students and the wider village community.

Following the Mann Ki Baat programme, Sai planted a guava sapling on the school campus under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
“Environmental protection is a shared responsibility of the government and every member of society. Every sapling planted today strengthens the foundation of a clean and secure environment for future generations,” Sai said.
School students and villagers joined the Chief Minister in listening to the Prime Minister’s programme.
Kanker MP Bhojraj Nag, Antagarh MLA Vikram Usendi, public representatives, officials, employees, students and a large number of villagers were present on the occasion.
