Raipur: Reaffirming the pivotal role of the police in maintaining public safety and strengthening democratic governance, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday July 27, 2026 honoured outstanding police officers and personnel for their exemplary contributions in various fields of policing at a state-level police excellence awards ceremony held in Raipur.

Congratulating the award recipients, the Chief Minister said the recognition was not merely an acknowledgement of individual achievement but a tribute to the collective dedication, discipline and spirit of service displayed by the entire police force.

He noted that police personnel work under demanding circumstances throughout the year, often remaining away from their families while serving in difficult terrains and challenging conditions.

Role in the Fight Against Naxalism

He observed that Bastar, once affected by prolonged violence, is witnessing a new phase of development, public confidence and expanding opportunities.

According to Sai, this transformation has been made possible through coordinated efforts of the Central and State Governments, security forces and the people of the region.

Recalling his visits to injured security personnel undergoing treatment after anti-Naxal operations, the Chief Minister said he had witnessed extraordinary courage among officers determined to return to duty despite sustaining serious injuries.

Highlighting achievements beyond policing, Sai congratulated Assistant Sub-Inspector Gyaneshwari Yadav of the Chhattisgarh Police for winning the silver medal in the Women’s 53 kg weightlifting event at the Commonwealth Games 2026.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, police officers, decorated personnel and their family members, celebrating excellence, commitment and service within the Chhattisgarh Police.
