Pragati College , Choubey Colony , Raipur, Chhattisgarh organised a 2-Day long 25th Annual Sports Festival

The 25th Annual sports festival of Pragati College was a resounding success, showcasing the talents and sportsmanship of all participants along with College Faculties –Photo –Pragati –Administration   

The Sports is one event that students get pleasure a lot from. The  2 day long Inter College indoor Sports festival took. place in Pragati College, Choubey Colony , Raipur , Chhattisgarh . The games like Badminton, table tennis, carrom and chess competitions were contested by the students from Tuesday February 18 to Wednesday  February  19, 2025 .

Principal Dr. Soumya Nayyar, while explaining the importance of sports in human life on the occasion of inauguration, said that competition itself is an essential part of human life. Without competition, human life is colourless, hence competition is very important. One should always be prepared to face any competition with full heart and enthusiasm, no matter what the result will be . Participating in sports is more important than winning or losing in the game, Principal Said .

Dr. Soumya Nayyar encourages all the players to play the game with discipline and sportsmanship.

Furnishing the importance to sports citing the role of games especially chess and carrom are good for mental health, In her speech, Dr. Soumya Nayyar said that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body and it is very important for a healthy body. Sports lead to all-round development of the student, one hand it teaches discipline, on the other hand it develops leadership qualities, Dr, Soumya Nayyar added.

In the 25th Annual sports festival, Sushil Donde B.CA. I got winner in men’s singles badminton competition and Aditya Raj Tiwari B.Com. III year was runner-up. Aditya Raj Tiwari B.Com.III year winner and Naveen Bharti B.Sc.II year the winners in men’s doubles badminton competition and Sushil Bonde B.CA.I year and Rupesh Kumar D.EL.ED.I year were the runner-ups. Priya Jha D.EL.ED.I year was the winner in girls’ badminton and Avantika Bywait BSc.II year was the runner-up.

In the chess competition, Devesh Chopkar BCA.II year was the winner and Vijay Sahu B.ED.II year was runner-up in men’s category. In the women’s category under the Samvaraj competition, Jagriti Sahu BSc.II year was the winner and Priya Jha D.EL.ED.J year runner-up .

In the table tennis competition, Mujtaba Raza BBA.॥ year was the winner and Naveen Bharti B.Sc.II year was the runner-up. In the table tennis men’s doubles competition, Mujtaba Raza BBA.II year and Vimal Kant B.Sc.II year were the winners and Naveen Bharti B.Sc.II and Harsh Patil BCA.III year were the runner-ups.

In the carrom competition, Sujal Chauhan B.Sc.1 year was the winner in the men’s singles and Roshan Badh BCA.II year was the runner-up. In the carrom competition, Sujal Chauhan B.Sc.1 year and Kamal Deep D.EL.ED.] year were the winners in the men’s doubles and Roshan Badh BCA.II and Gaurav Nagarvi D.EL.ED.I year were the runners-ups. In the carrom competition, Mansi Sahu B.Sc.II year was the winner in the women’s singles and Muskan Deshmukh B.Com.III year was the runner-up. And in the women’s doubles category, Mansi Sahu B.Sc. II year and Jagrati Verma B.Com. I year were the winners. Muskan Deshmukh B.Com. III year and Nishi Barwa B.Com. I year were the runners-ups.

On the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 25t Annual sports festival, the winners and runners-up were awarded trophies and certificates by Principal Dr. Saumya Naiwar.

On the occasion the entire staff and students including the Principal of the college were present.
