Bihar: Election strategist and Jan Suraaj Party president Prashant Kishor, who is trying his luck in the Bihar assembly elections to be held next year, is making new announcements. Prashant Kishor said the liquor ban decision was a sham by Nitish Kumar. Kishor criticised the current liquor ban and claimed that it has proved ineffective. He said the liquor ban has led to a rise in illegal domestic liquor distribution and deprived the state of potential excise revenue of Rs 20,000 crore. He also accused politicians and bureaucrats of benefiting from the illicit liquor trade. Kishor also said that he believes in ‘politics of competence’ and will not hesitate to speak on liquor ban.
Jan Suraj will field 40 Muslim candidates in the assembly elections
