Raipur: The future of children studying in ashram hostels is being brightened through ‘Project Sankalp’, launched by the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department in the state.

This new initiative of the department is empowering students for their all-round development, focusing not only on academics but also on moral, social, and life skills.

Principal Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Sonmoni Borah , said here today on Sunday December 21, 2025 that this innovative initiative has been launched with the aim of giving a new direction to the future of hostel students, under the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Departmental Minister Ramvichar Netam.

A small seed forms the basis of a large tree: Principal Secretary Borah said that just as a small seed forms the basis of a large tree, a small positive initiative can bring about a revolution in society.

If a student receives education based on high ideals from the beginning, he or she will be able to make a positive contribution to society and the nation in the future. Project Sankalp is an important effort in this direction.

Principal Secretary Borah informed that under this initiative, special attention is being paid to the academic studies of the children studying in the hostels, along with creative activities, discipline, life skills, and personality development. Students are being provided with a safe environment, quality food, regular academic support, and opportunities for sports and cultural activities.

Training is being provided selflessly by the renowned motivational speaker Nand from Hyderabad. A small positive initiative can bring about a big change in the lives of children: Principal Secretary Borah also informed that under the first phase of Project Sankalp, a training session was organised in Raipur from October 16 to 18, 2025, with the Assistant Commissioners of Tribal Development. General and practical problems related to hostels and ashrams were discussed in detail, and positive, simple, and effective solutions were suggested by motivational speaker Nand.

During the training, useful suggestions were shared regarding the mental, academic, and social development of the students. In this connection, a dialogue program was organised today with the superintendents of post-matric hostels and ashrams through video conferencing. On this occasion, Principal Secretary Sonmoni Borah shared his experiences, saying, “Even a small positive initiative can bring about a big change in the lives of children.”

It is worth mentioning that the Department of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development has been making numerous efforts from time to time for the all-round development of children studying in the hostels and residential schools run by the department.

The departmental minister and senior officials regularly inspect the hostels and residential schools to review the facilities, ensuring that there are no shortcomings in the amenities provided to the children.
New Enthusiasm and Confidence Among Children:

Through the efforts made under Project Sankalp, a new enthusiasm and confidence have been instilled in the children living in the hostels. Now, they are not only achieving academic success but also learning about the joys and colors of life.

Teachers and hostel superintendents are playing a crucial role in connecting the children with a culture of learning and making them aware and responsible citizens of society.

This initiative of the Tribal Development Department is opening new avenues of opportunity, especially for children from remote and tribal areas. By connecting education with sensitivity and a positive mindset through this innovative initiative, the hostels are becoming a strong foundation for the happy lives of the children , Principal Secretary Sonmoni Borah added.
