Raipur: Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma presented National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificates to eight government health institutions during a ceremony held in Kawardha on Sunday July 19, 2026 . Addressing the gathering, he reaffirmed that the State Government is committed to providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services to every citizen. He said that NQAS certification is not merely an award but a recognition of efficient healthcare delivery and patient-centric services.

The certified institutions include Ayushman Arogya Mandirs at Palansari, Minminiya, Gochhiya, Virendranagar, Gaurmati, Dharamgarh, Gendpur, and Ranjitpur.

Kabirdham Sets a New Benchmark

Kabirdham district has achieved a significant milestone, with 60 government health institutions receiving NQAS certification, making it the highest-performing district in Chhattisgarh in terms of quality accreditation. The certification recognises excellence in healthcare delivery, patient safety, clinical services, infection control, support services, and quality management.

Rigorous Evaluation Process

Health institutions undergo extensive preparation before certification. District and state-level assessment teams inspect infrastructure, documentation, patient care, cleanliness, availability of medicines and diagnostic kits, water and electricity supply, and overall service quality. Institutions scoring more than 70 percent across all prescribed standards become eligible to apply for national certification.

Target Surpassed by 125 Percent

For the financial year 2025–26, the state had set a target of preparing 73 health institutions in Kabirdham for certification. Exceeding expectations, the district initiated quality improvement measures in 91 government health institutions, achieving 125 percent of the target and securing the top position in the state.

Of these:

  • 60 institutions have successfully received NQAS certification.
  • 12 institutions are awaiting final results.
  • 19 institutions are currently under preparation.

The certified facilities include the District Hospital, Pandariya Community Health Centre, one Urban Primary Health Centre, five Primary Health Centres, and 52 Sub-Health Centres.

Financial Incentives for Certified Institutions

Institutions receiving NQAS certification become eligible for annual financial incentives for three years:

  • Sub-Health Centres: ₹2.16 lakh annually
  • Primary Health Centres: ₹3 lakh annually
  • Community Health Centres and District Hospitals: ₹10,000 per bed annually

The incentive funds will be utilized to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and further improve patient services.
